👨‍🏫Volunteer with Santa Rita Union School District

We are excited to welcome volunteers back into our schools! Your time and support make a meaningful difference for students and staff. To keep our campuses safe and organized, Santa Rita Union School District uses the Raptor Volunteer Management System for all volunteer registration and sign-in.

The SRUSD Volunteer Handbook explains everything you need to know about volunteering in our schools.

How to Register as a Volunteer

All volunteers must create an account in the Raptor system and complete the online application:

What’s Required

  • Application & Code of Conduct: Complete in the Raptor portal.
  • Government-issued ID: Scanned and uploaded within the system
  • TB Clearance: Upload a valid TB test result (good for four years but must be submitted annually).
  • Background Check: A $6.30 background check (via JD Palatine) is required before approval. If this cost creates hardship, please contact the District Office—we’re here to help.

Volunteer Levels

  • General Clearance Volunteers – Always supervised by SRUSD staff (classroom helpers, event support).
  • Extended Clearance Volunteers – May work with students without direct supervision (e.g., athletic coaches, overnight chaperones). Extended clearance requires fingerprinting in addition to the above. MUST BE PROCESSED THROUGH HUMAN RESOURCES.

Signing In at School

Once your application is approved, your volunteer clearance will be noted in our Student Information System under your child’s record. Please remember that all volunteer opportunities must be coordinated and approved by your school’s administration. On the day of your approved activity, check in at the school’s main office, where you’ll sign in and receive a visitor badge. This badge must be worn at all times while on campus.
