 District Network & Wireless Service

The Santa Rita Union School District's Internet network was originally designed and implemented in 2000. Since that time, there have been numerous changes and upgrades made, as a result of e-rate funding or bond, providing sites with the latest networking technology. Broadband access is the District standard, and our bandwidth has been increased at all schools: 4 elementary schools at 1GB, 2 middle schools at 1GB, and currently supports over 4,000 devices via 180 WiFi hotspots, including computers, laptops, Chromebooks, tables and other devices. During this school year, we are exploring upgrading our main WAN connection to 10Gbps (nearly 20x the national average for school districts).  We are planning for future dramatic growth in both web based and digital content. It is essential our learning resources are available anywhere and anytime.

  Student Information System
The Santa Rita Union School District will use the Aeries Student Information System (SIS) beginning the 2017-2018 school year.  It provides our teachers, administrators, parents, and students controlled access to student information via a Web browser interface and mobile app access.

1 to 1 Device Initiative Districtwide

We are rolling into our 4th year of a very successful 1 to 1 device initiative using Google's G-Suite Tools for Education on Chromebooks from TK through 8th grade.  Our 6th-8th grade students get 24/7 access to a Chromebook during the school year.

Google Apps for Education (Google G Suite)

Google Apps for Education (G-Suite) is a core suite of productivity applications that Google offers to schools and educational institutions that include Gmail, Calendar, Classroom, Drive, Docs and Sites. Since 2013, the Santa Rita School District has adopted this suite of Google tools for use across the curriculum.

Districtwide Educational Technology Integration

Working in conjunction with the Director of Curriculum and supporting TOSA's, the Santa Rita Union School District's Educational and Information Technology Department assists in providing leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of technological programs to support instructional services across the district including education computing systems, technical support services, software/hardware acquisition, and system design/installation. Additionally, we provide support for planning, assessment, and data collection of innovative projects and staff professional development.

Computer Repair & Network Support

The Santa Rita Union School District's Educational and Information Technology Department provides computer system repairs both on site as well as in the district office.  Through the online Mojo Help Desk, all district staff members can submit requests for service. Our technicians will often resolve issues at the school site during the same or next business day the request has been placed. Additionally, district staff can drop off devices with their library media techs for repair (in most cases).

Online Security & Digital Citizenship
The Santa Rita Union School District's Educational and Information Technology Department takes electronic security very seriously.  As a public education agency, the district operates in context of complex regulations including the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA).and many other federal, state, and local laws.   In conjunction with our vendor partners, Google and GoGuardian, we defend information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording, or destruction.
