Gavilan View Middle School --

The District is engaged in a “modernization” project at the middle school. The scope of work consists of the replacement of nine (9) old portable classrooms with new classrooms that feature improved teaching stations and revised cabinetry and a new parking lot to function as a bus turn-around. 

Completion of the project is scheduled for the start of the new school year.  The funding for the project is provided through a 60-40 match with the state. The local contribution is provided through a Certificates of Participation (COP) program.

• The Department of State Architect (DSA) has approved plans, specifications, and blue prints for the project.
• A local contractor was awarded the bid for the project.
• Existing portable classrooms have been disconnected and removed.
• Ground work (electrical and new footings and ramps) are being prepared to be installed.
• The parking lot and bus turn-around has been put out to bid
